What can I carry with me
about the project
What Can I Carry With Me is a book and web-based archive that explores how personal objects carry memory, identity, and emotional attachment across cultural transition. Centered on items brought from my hometown Shenyang to Boston, the project documents everyday belongings—food, clothing, and small personal artifacts—as carriers of familiarity and selfhood. Through a combination of printed matter and a digital archive, it reflects on how identity is preserved, translated, and reshaped through what we choose to carry, keep, or leave behind.
